Although Seanchaí & the Unity Squad is Dublin-born Rachel Fitzgerald's first official band, she has shared the stage with such talents as Mary Courtney and Karen Casey. Her hauntingly beautiful voice and wide range of vocal styles -- from traditional Irish chantruse to belting it out ala Aretha Franklin -- should carry her far. Rachel is currently working on a solo project.

Her musical influences are so eclectic -- spanning Motown, Traditional Irish music, African music, Indian Music, R & B, and Hip-Hop -- that you end up asking what she doesn't like. The answer there would be Pop, Country and Metal which she says she sometimes finds disturbing, before politely conceeding that everyone has different tastes.

What brings Rachel joy in life? Writing poetry and songs, cooking, hanging out, touring with the band and...sleeping.
